An under utalized Internet Marketing stratagy is the
Newsgroup Campaign. I used this very successfuly at Emusic.com
as well as Aardwolf Marketing & Wine.com.
First you have to research all available newsgroups and
make a list of all newsgroups that are pertainent to the
subject that you are marketing.
Next you read the rules of that group if available and/or
'lurk' there long enough to see if posting advertisments
are permitted. If they are not, you can still post your
ads by reading other people's posts and replying to them
with your own posts. If your information is on topic to
the conversation and adds to the flavor of the thread,
it is almost always allowed.
Set it up to be allerted if someone responds to your
post. You will be much more tolerated if you respond,
as opossed to making it obvous that you have no interest
in their newsgroup and are mearly there for your own gain.
This will also make you aware if there is something about
your posts that anger the folks there, allowing you to
'tweak' your style.
